Charity Lawson gushes over channeling Halle Bailey for ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Disney Night: ‘I love her’

Charity Lawson wants to be a part of Halle Bailey’s world.

The “Bachelorette” alum channeled the “Little Mermaid” star during “Disney100 Night” on “Dancing With the Stars” Tuesday, and couldn’t help herself from fangirling over the actress while chatting with Page Six in the ballroom.

“If she somehow responds to me [and my dance], I will film my reaction and, like, post it for the world to see,” a giddy Lawson gushed.

“I love her! So it would mean everything [if she sees it]. I would actually probably like pass away.”

Lawson and her pro partner, Artem Chigvintsev, performed a beautiful waltz to “Part of Your World” Tuesday night, receiving a combined score of 24/30 from judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

The reality star told us that while she was always a big fan of “The Little Mermaid” growing up, seeing Bailey portray Ariel in the 2023 live-action film meant “everything” to her.

“As you get older, you become more aware. It’s like, ‘Oh, the princesses that I love, or these characters that I love, they don’t necessarily look like me.’ So you kind of like crave that,” she explained.

“I loved ‘The Little Mermaid’ growing up, but the most recent remake with Halle, that’s truly when I just found like a deeper connection with this movie,” she continued, calling the opportunity to channel Bailey an “honor.”

“I just wanted to put out a performance that I was gonna be proud of, that also people at home watching – little girls or just girls that look like me – to watch it and be like, ‘Yeah, this is a possibility.’”

Lawson also told us that it was “so fun” working with the “DWTS” wardrobe, hair and makeup teams on a look that “truly embodied” the iconic Disney princess.

“They went all out!” she marveled. “I just can’t thank them enough, because they really do work so hard and they make every vision come to life perfectly.”

Lawson and Chigvintsev will take on “Most Memorable Year Night” next week, where they’ll perform a routine inspired by a specific year that was life-changing for the “Bachelor” alum.

“It will be hard not to have emotion,” she teased. “I’m really excited … it’s going to be beautiful.”

Meanwhile, Bailey was making a splash of her own in London Tuesday night, stepping out to the 2023 Glamour Women of The Year Awards with her rapper beau DDG.

The Chloe x Halle songstress rocked a short velvet Nicole + Felicia dress from the designer’s spring/summer 2024 evening collection with a vibrant red lip and strappy black heels.

She completed the glam look with a stunning diamond necklace, matching bracelet and shoulder-grazing diamond earrings.
