Taylor Swift compared to Yoko Ono as Chiefs lose again amid Travis Kelce romance

A whole locker room of men to choose from yet they still blame the woman in the bleachers.

The Kansas City Chiefs are facing criticism after losing five of their last eight games, yet instead of focusing on the players on the field, several NFL fans — and even commentators — have shifted their focus to Travis Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift.

Following the team’s tough loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, many angry fans took to Twitter to voice their frustration, comparing the 12-time Grammy winner to Yoko Ono, who was famously blamed for breaking up the Beatles after marrying John Lennon.

“Taylor Swift is Yoko Ono-ing the Chiefs,” one person tweeted, while another added, “Taylor is the Yoko of the Chiefs.”

“Who would have guessed that Taylor Swift and Yoko Ono have something in common?” a third asked, as a fourth simply stated, “Taylor Swift = Yoko Ono.”

“Taylor ‘Yoko’ Swift has utterly destroyed the Kansas City Chiefs. They will soon return to the days of Todd Haley,” a firth person wrote.

Even a few of the Fox Sports 1 commentators looked outside the Kansas City Chiefs organization for fault.

“Feels like it’s about time to call Taylor Swift a distraction,” Skip Bayless tweeted after the game. “What do you think, Patrick [Mahomes]? Andy [Reid]? How about you, Travis?”

Craig Carton also hinted at the tight end’s romance with the pop star during Tuesday’s taping of the broadcast, questioning whether Kelce, 34, is “distracted” by the “very public” relationship.

“Everyone knows what it’s like at some point to fall in love and have that be the main focus of everything and maybe you lose sight of the other stuff because you have this great new relationship,” he said.

However, several Swifties slammed the suggestion that she was the problem, calling the claim “absolutely ridiculous and pathetic.”

“I didn’t know Taylor Swift plays wide receiver for the Chiefs,” one person wrote, pointing out that the Chiefs’ wide receiver group has the most dropped passes in the entire NFL.

“People saying Taylor Swift is like Yoko Ono is so accurate cause it’s a woman being blamed for a man’s ‘failures’ that she had literally nothing to do with,” a second person added.

“I’m sorry but when did Taylor Swift start playing offense in the NFL? And are we really still blaming Yoko Ono for the downfall of The Beatles? It was racist and sexist then and still is today. Let’s stop blaming women when men become inept at their jobs,” a third user chimed in.

“taylor swift isn’t the next yoko ono y’all just hate women,” another stated.

Kelce and Swift started dating over the summer and went public with their romance in September when “The Man” singer rocked up to Arrowhead Stadium to watch one of the NFL star’s games.

Since then, Swift has become somewhat of a staple in the Kelce suite, often cheering on the two-time Super Bowl champion alongside new BFF Brittany Mahomes.

In fact, she brought her family with her to the Christmas Day game, where she looked festive in her signature red lipstick and a Santa hat embroidered with Kelce’s jersey number.

Although they left the stadium without the win, she and Kelce were spotted holding hands as they headed home to salvage the holiday.

Despite drawing a lot of attention when she attends the games, Swift told Time earlier this month that she never knows when she is being shown on the broadcast and is “just there to support Travis.”

“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she explained. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

“I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads,” she added.
